Mehdi Hairi Yazdi, the son of grand Ayatollah Abdolkarim Hairi Yazdi the founder of Qom's seminary in Islamic sciences, is one of the most original, and at the same time least known, political theorists in the contemporary Islamic world.
Hairi at the same time had the highest educational degree in Islamic sciences (Ejtehad in Shia
jurisprudence and professorship in Islamic philosophy) and in modern analytic philosophy. The former degree was received in Qom's seminary and the later in Toronto university.
His theory of "Joint Private Ownership" (Nzariye-ye Malekiyat-e Khosusi Musha), uttered in his Wisdom and Governmet (Hekmat va Hokumat, 1995, Shadi Pub., London), is one of the most innovative political theories among Muslim thinkers. If taken seriously, this theory can provide us with an Islamic theory for democracy, based on some principles in Shia Jurisprudence (feqh) and Islamic philosophy.
Also Hairi is one of the pioneers in criticing guardianship of the Jurist theory (Welayat-e Faqih) in a philosophical way, based on the Islamic feqh and philosophical tradition.
Because of the fact that in two or theree chapters of his book Hairi did criticise Welayat-e Faqih theory, his Wisdom and Government never received any permission for being published inside Iran by Islamic Republic of Iran's authorities.

Hairi Yazdi's political thought is to be known from now on. He is the man of our future.

thanks dear Yaser for your care. That was a useful point for my future writings on Dr Hairi. I corrected.
پاسخحذفI enjoy your comments and writings. For example i liked the article you wrote on Rahesabz concerning Mr Kamali's reassignment as a protest about the way Rahesabz had reflected Shojaeddin Shafaa's death
Thank you very much dear Meitham. I wonder if you have an account in Face book that we can be in touch. All the best
